When planning your wedding reception or other event entertaining your guests in a unique memorable way is a huge priority, and that goes beyond the DJ these days as more and more people are incorporating photo booths into their planning as a unique way to capture the memories and fun that you and your guests had at your event or wedding.
You may or may not know that there are options in the type of photo booth you get, which can make a big difference in your experience with it and how much fun you and you guests have. The two main types of photo booths are open air booths (what The Photo Booth Group uses) and the more standard style closed booth. Open air booth just means we have no box around you when the photos are being taken and the standard closed booths have walls and close you in to take the shots. I’d like to explain why we believe the open air booth will be more fun for you and your guests!
1. You can fit more people in an open air booth
If you’ve ever been in a traditional style photo booth you know that they can be great for 2-3 people sitting in them, but after that it starts to be pretty cramped and a lot less comfortable. Which makes it impossible to say get you and all of your bridesmaids in one fun shot together, or get your full work team to take a group photo. With an open air booth that problem is instantly gone. Open air allows you to get as many people as you can squeeze into the frame in front of the camera which can easily be 10 or more people!
2. Any backdrop you want
With a closed booth you are restricted to what the inside of the booth looks like as your backdrop. With an open air booth you can use literally anything you’d like! We offer plenty of options from our stock of backdrops, but if you’d like you can use your own! You can have it match your wedding colors, or we have options with gold or silver shimmering sequins, which looks really cool! So if you’d like to be able to choose or customize how your photos background looks an open air booth makes doing that much easier. One of our cool shimery backdrops is in this photo below.
I’ve been to events that have had both the closed style booth and the open air style booth. While they both can be lots of fun in their own right, half of the fun is being able to see all the goofy poses and props your guests are using. In a closed booth you can’t see what others are doing and it’s usually a good laugh when you see your father wearing a tiara and a tutu for a photo, in a closed booth that wouldn’t happen. Also it gives the opportunity for someone to jump into the photo and photobomb it, which makes for some entertaining moments. All this while at the same time being able to take the same style photos that you’d be able to take in a closed booth. They just leave more opportunity for fun!
